Cricket Communications, the US-based carrier, well-known for its unlimited wireless services, has recently revealed its device lineup for 2010. The operator plans to launch about 15 devices, such as smartphones, touchscreens, featurephones and broadband devices, by the end of the year. The statement includes some devices that already made their way to the shelves in July, Kyocera Domino.

We are determined to make Cricket the best provider of value-driven services in the prepaid wireless industry, and with our new device lineup, available on our true 3G network, we have taken a big step toward achieving that goal,” said Doug Hutcheson, Leap’s president and CEO.

The lineup includes devices such as Blackberry Curve 8530, already announced for 6th August, Sanyo Zio by Kyocera, and the Samsung Messenger Touch, which was revealed today at Cricket's Analyst Day event. The carrier also plans to launch a low-cost Android smartphone from Huawei.

Cricket also intends to introduce a few feature phones in its offering, by refreshing some of the carrier's most popular entry-level handsets, the Cricket CAPTR II and the Cricket MSGM8 II. Both phone are set to be launched officially later this month.

Continued Hutcheson, “Our smartphones and touchscreen devices will be affordable to millions of consumers and these new, higher-end devices will also compliment new, all-inclusive service plans that will be priced to drive increased ARPU. As the shift toward the use of Smartphones, touchscreens and tablet devices continues, we believe we are improving our position to capitalize on the rapid growth in this area.”

The carrier also mentions some broadband devices that it will start offering to its customers, such as Crosswave, a personal HotSpot device that allows computer users to connect several wireless devices at the same time from up to 30 feet away from the Crosswave’s location. Further, two modems will also be launched next week by Cricket, the Huawei 1705 modem and the Cricket A605 USB modem.
